Does it replace our title spreadsheet?
That is the point of the first foundation: a shared work and edition record that can hold identifiers, contributors, release context, and the relationships a publishing team needs to trust.
How will distribution statements be handled?
The beta starts from representative files supplied by the first partner. Each import is designed to preserve the source, mapping version, review state, exceptions, and approved result instead of hiding a transformation in a spreadsheet.
Will it calculate royalty statements immediately?
Only after the partner’s actual contract terms and statement evidence have been modeled and reviewed. Drafts, approvals, finalized runs, and corrections need an auditable path before they can support author-facing documents.
Will authors have a portal?
A protected author experience is planned, but it will not open until protected access, document authorization, and publication controls have been validated for sensitive financial material.
Does it support both print and digital publishing?
The title and edition model is deliberately format-aware. Digital delivery has an existing foundation; print-production workflows will be shaped from the first partner’s real handoffs and stock evidence.
Who will work with the first publishing partner?
The Simply360 team will work directly with the partner’s editorial, operations, rights, and production leads. The goal is a dependable operating foundation, not an unattended software handoff.
Do we have to use AI?
No. AI is optional and off until a publishing team chooses to use it. It can help staff inspect records or prepare drafts, but it does not approve royalty work, publish documents, or replace editorial, rights, or production judgment. The Optional AI page explains the boundary.
